Winter Skincare: Night Routine & Masks

Makeup Removal:

One saving grace I learned last year was to be rid of makeup wipes and swap them for micellar water. I felt makeup wipe dried out my skin, the wipes were rough on my skin and overall did more damage then good. The L’Oreal Micellar water is my holy grail. It is incredibly soft, gentle and get rid of ALL my makeup, including eye makeup.

For the days I am extra caked up, full eye looks and liquid lipstick I always use the Garnier Nourishing cleaning oil. I rub it all over my face and it begins to break down and melt the makeup off making it’s a breeze to wash off. It’s made with Jojoba LA and Macadamia oils, specifically for dry skin so it’s gentle, smooth and feels(and smells) amazing on the skin.

These makeup removers say you don’t need to rinse but if you want an extra clean you can move forward with your cleaner followed by toner.

Serum:

For my night routine I use the  Dr. Roebucks Reverse Aging Serum which is a great repairing serum that helps promote collage production in your skin. It is a much thicker serum in comparison to the ones I use in the morning but it is packed with amazing ingredients including Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, E & 3, Creatine and aloe vera. All these ingredients help to reverse aging, sooth wrinkles & hyper pigmentation while moisturizing and promoting elasticity. It is a bit on the pricey side but I think this is such an important product to have for your night time routine.

Moisturizer/ Oils:

I lock in the serum with one of the moisturizers I mentioned before and/or mixed with one of the overnight oils. I have mentioned GOSH products before and they have the GOSH Overnight Primer Oils which is made up of many essential oils that hydrates and repairs your skin at night. I also keep the Lipidol Overnight Oils by my night stand so I apply this before bed.

Masks:

Belif First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask is God sent. Reading the ingredients alone will make you fall in love with this product “formulated with Black Truffle extract…visible capsules of Amber, Pearl and Gold powder”. I use this about 2-3 times a week after my cleanser, it feels incredibly soft on your skin and in the morning you can see a visible difference in the brightness of your skin.

Everyone loves a good sheet mask these days and for good reason. They hydrate, plump, brighten and  add firmness your skin. There’s an abundance of options out there but my favorites at the moment at from The Face Shop, they have a large selection, my favorites right now are Pomegranate & Aloe for hydrating. Not to mention they are very affordable. On a bit of a higher spectrum I have been trying out the Anew Sheets Masks in Brightening & Lifting. I love using the brightening sheet mask (made with white pearl essence) the day of an event so my face has that extra glow.

About once a week I will do a face mask (usually something mud/clay) like the Vichy Clay Mask. This one is amazing because it dries up within 5 minutes so you can fit it in your busy schedule. It is made up of two white clays which cleans up the dirt and pores without drying you out.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 with Shea Butter & Vitamin E large

Lip Products:

Lastly and maybe most important, don’t forget to keep your lips hydrated! My current favorite is the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 with Shea Butter & Vitamin E .

It is super smooth and hydrating which keeps my lips feeling soft and moisturized all day long, I apply it once in the morning before my makeup and once before bed.
