a
(oh my) GOSH! Why am I so new to GOSH makeup products? I feel like I have been missing out for so long! Before this post I had only tried the GOSH cream blushes and I absolutely love them so I was excited to get a package of their core products to try out. GOSH is a Denmark based brand that has worked it’s way around the world and into mine- in Canada.
The core products consist of pretty much everything a makeup lover could possibly need to create every look possible. So let’s go in order of application. Starting with primer.
GOSH PRIMER PLUS SKIN PERFECTOR $25
This primer resembles a BB cream in almost all aspects; color, consistency, texture and finish. It set your face up for a balanced look for your foundation and evened out your skin without that silicone touch. The only downside is the color is a light beige so you have to really work it into your skin to dissolve to ensure it doesn’t lighten your face.
GOSH #FOUNDATIONDROPS $26 (002 IVORY, 004 NATURAL, 006 TAWNY, 008 HONEY, 010 TAN)
I always get excited to try and find new foundations because this the most important part of your makeup. Unfortunately the color selection was incredibly light and the darkest shade (Tan) was still a bit too light for me. The foundation itself is very soft and creamy to apply. It is very lightweight with minimal coverage and works similar to a BB cream. Being in a “drops” format I have been using it to mix in with other foundations that are a bit darker, pink toned that need a yellow base and to give my foundation a smoother finish.
GOSH CONTOUR N’ STROBE KIT $32 (LIGHT, MEDIUM)
Yay drug store contour kit! I don’t think there are very many (good) ones out there so I was really hoping to find something that worked well. I tried out the kit in “medium” which had darker contour shades that seemed to be cool and matte for a good contour however after using it, I noticed it gave my face a bit more warmth and less of a contour shadow. I prefer my contour shade to have a bit more of a grey undertone so this didn’t do the contour trick for me.
The blush that came with it was a really soft, shimmery pink which I liked however the highlight shade was not so great for me. It had a lot of pale yellow which didn’t work well with the blush or gave a strong glow. Overall the kit wasn’t very appealing to me however when using it as an eye shadow palette worked amazing. The warm contour shades were a good base and crease colour, the highlight defined the eyebrow bone and inner corner and the blush gave a little color and shimmer to the lid.
GOSH FOREVER MATT EYE SHADOW STICK $14(NOUGAT, TWISTED BROWN, DARK BROWN, DARK GREY)
I tried out the shadow stick in Nougat (a very netural base color) and dark brown. I absolutely LOVE these sticks. They are incredibly soft, creamy, pigmented and blend well into your skin. I love nougat as a base to even out my skin and dark brown for outer crease. They also make a great base and primer to help stick powder eye shadows on top.
GOSH GIANT PRO LINER (BLACKER THAN BLACK) $16
At first glance this looks like kids makeup. Being shaped like a huge crayon marker, it was hard for me to take this product seriously at first. I swatched it on my arm and it definitely fit the color “blacker than black” however once I actually put it on my eyes, the color was a bit faint and needed to be build up. With the felt tip being as big as it was, it was hard to keep a solid, thin, precise line and ended up being very thick (which I did not like). This would be great for beginners to help keep control and create whichever shape they wanted but it was difficult to maneuver a very thin, sharp winged liner. The smell was also incredibly strong which made you literally feel like you were using a permanent marker on your face (gross).
GOSH VELVET TOUCH LIP LINER $10 (NOUGAT, RAISIN)
All hail Kylie Jenner for reminding up the power of a good lip liner. The past few years I have been obsessed with lip liners so trying out new ones always excites me. These GOSH velvet touch lip liners went above my expectations. They were so creamy, pigmented and slid onto your lips in ease. They actually reminded me a lot of the Kylie lip liners minus the ridiculous cost and shipping fees. I tried both colors, Nougat is a very light neutral and Raisin is the perfect mauvey, darker netural that worked perfectly with my skin. My favorite nude combo is Raisin lip liner all over the lips and Nougat lipstick.
GOSH VELVET TOUCH MATT LIPSTICK $14 (MATT ROSE, MATT NOUGAT, MATT CINNAMON, MATT CRANBERRY)
GOSH LUMI DROPS $17 (VANILLA, PEACH, BRONZE)
This is the product I was highly anticipating because you know a girl loves to glow. Highlight is the one product I refuse to be stingy with, and if you follow me and have seen my pictures you know my face, collar bones, shoulders and legs are always heavily highlighted. I was excited to try these drops and thought they would be perfect for your entire body. I tried peach at first and it was very light and had a minimal glow. Once I tried bronze was when I really noticed a glow. This works really well mixed in your foundation or applied on top for an extra glow (or both, because can you ever have too much highlight?)It is a bit watery so you can’t rub it around, you really need to work it in your skin.
GOSH OVERNIGHT PRIMER OIL ESSENCE $22
Lastly and most likely my favorite most exciting item. I haven’t tried or really heard much of overnight primer oils so this really got me excited because of the “oil” takeover in the cosmetic industry. This oil is made up of fresh lavender, black currant seed, argan and jojobal oil. Every night as I wipe off my makeup and wash my face this is the last thing I apply to my face, I use 3-4 drops and pat it on my face. It is incredibly hydrating, moisturizing and works well on its own (you can add night cream for extra moisture). In the morning your face feels so fresh and glows – it is AMAZING!
