Almost Fashionable

 

This has to be one of my favorite outfits I have put together in a while. Honestly, I am so obsessed with it that I am regretting photographing and blogging about it because now I can’t repeat this outfit everyday like I wanted to. I have been dreaming, visualizing and anticipating this outfit because of the two major pieces- a silky lingerie-esque top and denim skirt for the past month. We have been seeing this silky lingerie/pajama trend all spring/summer in forms on shirts, dresses, on top of basic tees, under a jacket, dressed up down, upside down and styled every way possible. I had the same excitement when I saw the return of the denim skirt. The last denim skirt I bought was about 7ish years ago (end of high school) when the trend of short skirts and tights underneath were a thing, remember that? (gross) Well the skirt was more of an accessory than practical so I went to Hollister and bought an extra mini denim skirt, which might as well have been a belt (that has now been cut up into DIY denim chokers) so it felt nice to actually buy a well fitted, high waisted, non ass showing denim skirt. Put together with a choker, rings and these sock fitted boots-I felt like channeling my inner Kim K. I am already planning on ways to transition these pieces into fall and obviously buying similar pieces so you won’t catch me repeating these pieces anytime soon.
