Almost Fashionable

 

Metallic lips. Glitter brows. Colored lashes. The makeup industry is always inspiring us to step outside our comfort zone and play with these beauty trends.  As amazing as a metallic black lip sounds sometimes you want to be a basic blogger, put on your favorite black ensemble, tie your hair up and opt for the most classic makeup look – neutral eyes and a red lip. Seriously it’s a bit magical to think this classic yet simple combo can really uplift and pull together your look like nothing else.

I created this look by using a few of my favorite Stila products including the Stila “Perfect Me, Perfect Hue eye and cheek” palette in “Medium/Tan”which comes with 5 eye shadows and two blushes. This palette allows you to create a perfect neutral look with a soft base and highlight color, vibrant rose gold lid color and two deep shadows (in a deep brown and purple) for your crease and outer eye. I used a bit of every color for the look, following the basic guide and went for a subtle cheek with the peach blush (left).

I finished my look with the Stila Stay All day Liquid Lipstick in “Beso” which is an absolute true, bright red. It gives you the classic red lip with a matte finish that genuinely lasts all day without any smudging. I took this lipstick out for a spin on the ultimate test run; Mexican food. Mexican street corn on the cob and three tacos later my lipstick is as good as new.

I love this look for absolutely any occasion, from day to night, night out with friends or a fancy red carpet affair.
