It’s the most wonderful time of the year – no, not Christmas, Fashion Week! Toronto Men’s Fashion Week to be specific, which has become one of my favorite fashion events in the city. I missed last season due to my travel bug that had me all across Asia for a few months on top of the cancellation of Toronto Fashion Week, the anticipation of this season has become a little extra special for me.
Toronto Men’s Fashion Week has a new residency this season at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formally the Maple Leaf Gardens) where they will be showing 19 shows including the MensFashion4Hope show featuring Toronto celebrities styled by Gotstyle on Thursday evening and the highly anticipated Beatlemania and John Lennon collection that will be showing on Saturday evening followed by the EDMA (emerging designer menswear awards). The entire week has numerous events, shows, VIP parties and obviously one too many after parties-I’ll need next week off to recover.
Starting off the week was the invite only Opening Night Party at Maison Mercer attended by designers, social influencers, bloggers, media, models and Toronto’s favorite politican aka Norm Kelly.
The night was filled with so much energy and excitement for the week (one of the best opening nights, in my opinion) with an amazing crowd, an electric dance floor, Jay Strut in the DJ booth and reconnecting with all my favorite fashion friends.
