As we get closer to Christmas many of the big, crazy holiday parties are over and we are shifting to more intimate parties with family and close friends. With that in mind, many of us take this time to dress a little more classic and conservative. New Years parties are also around the corner so this outfit fits as great inspiration, especially for those of you like me who opt out for the sparkly, sequins dresses. The malls are absolute mayhem this time of year filled with frantic last minute Christmas shoppers followed by sale savy shoppers during the boxing week mayhem. This outfit is a great for those who want to put something together with what is already in your closet. My last post was much more “trendy” and colorful (see the look here) so I wanted to show a more classic look that everyone can wear. The little black dress is the most popular, versatile piece of garment in every woman’s wardrobe. It is as essential in your closet as undergarments! I seriously believe if you don’t have a go to black dress you need to go out and invest in one. This dress can be worn to any type of function, all year long and looks so classy, elegant, trendy and works with any type of look/style you are going for. The best part of this look is that you really can have fun with the accessories and can change the look many different ways. I chose to keep my purse and shoes fairly neutral, got some shine on my shoes to make it pop. My focus was mainly of my makeup to give it that holiday spirit. This is the one time of year where the more sparkle the better so I added some sparkle on my eyelids and of course my nails. Lastly and mostly importantly, in my opinion, is the classic bright red lip. This color screams holidays and Christmas to me and really pulls the entire look together. I have been searching for the perfect red lipstick, I was not very happy with the MAC RED (see the post here) but I recently got the Gerard Cosmetics – Fire Engine and I am so in love with it! The perfect matte red shade, stay on for hours and makes your teeth look whiter. I highly recommend you give this color a try.  If you are still on the hunt for holiday or New Year’s outfit, I would highly recommend a little black dress and bright red lips! It’s always a classic show stopper.

What do you think of the LBD and red lip combo?

I am now off to celebrate the holidays and Christmas in Jamaica with my family. This will be my last post for 2014 and I want to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! See you in 2015.
