Politically correct

IMG_1798October 27th has been a date many people of Toronto have been talking about for many months now because it was election day. Yesterday marked the end of the Rob Ford administration and the beginning for John Tory. I surprised myself with the level of interest I have in politics but this election has been very interesting to say the least. Ari Goldkind has said on a few occasions that the race for mayor was turning into an episode of the Kardashian’s. He was a candidate different from most politicians in general because of his brutal honesty, ambitious plans and fearlessness. His name became popular quickly however with that came a lot of criticism that led to less involvement and media coverage. He was fourth in yesterdays elections however he guaranteed that will not be the end of him and the city of Toronto will be seeing a lot more of him in full Ari fashion. (www.ariformayor.com)

I met Ari Goldkind last week during World MasterCard Fashion Week (read about it here) and have remained in touch since then. I cannot fail to mention that he is one fashionable man and I vote for him to be the most fashionable mayoral candidate. He was kind enough to invite me to his campaign party to celebrate the end of his long journey as a candidate, an offer I could not refuse. It was at the beautiful Andrew Richard Designs in Toronto, an outdoor furniture gallery. The event venue, food, drinks, music and people were all so amazing. It was an incredible event and I must thank Ari and his team for such a great night!

IMG_1766I kept my outfit fairly simple but still professional. My inspiration was to look like the modern day politician. This midi skirt has been my favorite ever since I got it (see it styled here) so I knew I wanted to wear it. I paired it with a mustard color shirt that is such a pretty, fall color. The blouse is mostly sheer, with some frills and a cute collar. My hair is in a middle part pony tail (again) but I seriously love this hairstyle so much right now!

IMG_1804Do you think I can pull of being a politician in this outfit?!
