Gold face

It’s a few days after Labour Day, which means everyone is quickly writing of summer. However, technically speaking my calendar says summer ends on September 22, so let us enjoy the summer fashion and makeup for a little longer.

In Toronto this week the sun has been shining and we are having beautiful weather (better than most of August might I add) so I want to take full advantage.

Summer entails long sunny days, tanned skinned and the perfect bronze glow. However for those of us who do not get enough time in the sun and whose skin refuses to tan, we have bronzers and highlighters (thank the makeup Gods).

In the last few weeks I put together, what I think is the perfect golden bronze shimmery glow my face needs.Honestly I wish I thought of this combination months ago so I could enjoy it all summer long, but now I’ll have to take full advantage of the REAL last weeks of summer.

The key for this look is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit , a product I do not think gets enough recognition. It is gold shimmery and great as a highlight, however I have been using it almost as a bronzer.

I start by applying Smashbox Primer, Bobbi Brown foundation and MAC Pro Longwear concealer as the base.

I do a light contour with MAC Bronze to sculpt out the cheek bones and blend blend blend! Taking the Gold Deposit, I lightly sweep it over my contour and cheeks to give a healthy glow. Then to add a little bit of colour I finish it with the MAC Sweet Samba, focusing on the left side(dark pink). I finished this look with a nude/golden gloss, MAC Blessedly Rich and Voila!

This is also the makeup look I am wearing in my Day of Birth post.

So don’t wait up Fall beauty/fashion, I will see you in a few weeks!
